Grievance Redressal Committee

Enables any aggrieved student to be heard and treated without bias through a fair, confidential grievance procedure.

Overview

The Grievance Redressal Committee promotes and maintains a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment for students of the college. The committee enables any aggrieved person to express their feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the college. It conducts an enquiry and thoroughly examines the nature and pattern of grievances in a strictly confidential manner, with emphasis on procedural fairness — the right to be heard and the right to be treated without bias.

Responsibilities

  • To support those who have been deprived of the services offered by the college to which they are entitled.
  • To make officials of the college responsive, accountable and courteous in their dealings, more particularly with the students.
  • To ensure effective solution of grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

Procedure

The grievance procedure is a medium to sort out issues between a student and the college, by which a student who believes they have been treated unfairly with respect to academic or administrative affairs is redressed. Matters are disclosed only to those who have a legitimate role in resolving them.

Students ought to lodge their grievances with the Principal or Dean of the respective department, and the committee is intimated for necessary action. A final report based on grievances received and resolved is submitted to the management, the further course of action is decided, and the same is intimated to the students.
